Star Stories
The second graders from South Jefferson Elementary School came to the planetarium today to participate in the program Star Stories. They learned all about constellations in the night sky, and how to identify them, using the Big Dipper as a guide. They also learned the Greek stories behind some of the constellations, and used props to help act the stories out. They did a wonderful job predicting the phases of the moon from night to night, and figured out why the moon changes phase as well. Here are a few pictures from their visit!
Astronomers Of The Day
At the end of the visit each teacher chose their Astronomer of the Day. These students exhibited the participation, listening and questioning skills needed to make a great astronomer! Congratulations to our Astronomers of the Day!
